The Racing Ear Podcast
Hello my name is Trent Barr and thank you for listening to The Racing Ear Podcast. I have been a passionate historic sports car racing fan since I was a child and I started my first version podcast back in 2014. I started going to historic sports car racing events and audio recording racing cars in the paddock and on the track. Then I started up again and I wanted to interview people who have been in the racing industry.
I have been involved with hosting this podcast with 2-Time 24 Hours of Le Mans Winner, Rick Knoop and Auto Racing Engineer, Jeff Oldham. I have been involved in over 40 episodes of interviews through the kindness of Rick and Jeff with very well know figures in the racing world.
More recently I started podcasting again by going to events and just being a Huell Howser-esque kind of interviewer / fan talking to people about their cars, whether they own racing cars, classic cars, or are just racing fans just like me. I look forward to doing more interviews in the future as well as attending more historic sports car racing events in the future as well.
Thank you so much for listening to The Racing Ear Podcast.

TRE Ep 16 Jeff Kline Recollects Racing During the Golden Era Of IMSA
Send me a message. I would love to know where you are listening to me from!!
Hello again Racing Ears,
Jeff Kline is a former racing driver that I have become more familiar with recently after hearing him being a part of a panel discussion with the Racing History Project / "Race Talk with Trish" episode remembering IMSA GTU back in the 1980's. Back in the day, Jeff raced predominantly for Mazda, but had rides for Porsche, General Motors, and drove a Silk Cut Jaguar XJR-9 at the 1989 Le Mans 24 Hours. More recently Jeff has competed in several vintage races in a Ginetta G4 race car.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Jeff came to California to attend college at UCLA and has been planted in Southern California ever since. Jeff and I chatted about his experience driving in SCCA and eventually becoming a hired gun for the Racing Beat Mazda RX7 program in the late 70's and early 80's. Later he drove in the GTP Lights series and was driving a Pontiac Fiero GTP Lights race car during the 1987 Ford California Grand Prix at Sears Point International Raceway, a race where I was a spectator.
Anyway, it was great to meet and chat with Jeff as he remembered many amazing stories from his time driving amazing race cars and hanging out with really amazing people.
Thank you so much for listening to The Racing Ear Podcast.
