Hello my name is Trent Barr and thank you for listening to The Racing Ear Podcast. I have been a passionate historic sports car racing fan since I was a child and I started my first version podcast back in 2014. I started going to historic sports car racing events and audio recording racing cars in the paddock and on the track. Then I started up again and I wanted to interview people who have been in the racing industry.
I have been involved with hosting this podcast with 2-Time 24 Hours of Le Mans Winner, Rick Knoop and Auto Racing Engineer, Jeff Oldham. I have been involved in over 40 episodes of interviews through the kindness of Rick and Jeff with very well know figures in the racing world.
More recently I started podcasting again by going to events and just being a Huell Howser-esque kind of interviewer / fan talking to people about their cars, whether they own racing cars, classic cars, or are just racing fans just like me. I look forward to doing more interviews in the future as well as attending more historic sports car racing events in the future as well.

In this episode Trent, Rick, and Jeff had a chance to catch up with Dan Binks.
Dan Binks is the legendary Crew Chief that was involved in the epic racing dynasty that was the Pratt & Miller Engineering Compuware Chevrolet Corvette Racing Team. This team has a total of EIGHT class victories at the the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Over the years, this team accrued many class victories in the famed American Le Mans Series as well.
Originally from San Diego, California, Dan Binks was introduced to auto racing by his Father. Over the years Dan has been involved in racing with Lola, Mazda, Ford, and Chevrolet. His competitive spirit is a major ingredient in all of his team victories but in the process has produced a lifetime of memories while building relationships with many dedicated and respected racers along the way.
Dan Binks is on the board of directors of Camp Anokijig that is located in Plymouth Wisconsin just a few miles from Road America in Elkart Lake Wisconsin. Camp Anokijig can be found at www.anokijig.com.
